Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2011 Jeep Liberty

Hi there, Jeep owners. Today on your 2011 Jeep Liberty, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit. There's five main components you shall need when flat towing your vehicle with whatever you want to pull it with, whether it be a motor home or a tractor-trailer. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your vehicle and whatever you're towing, you'll need your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar. You'll need your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from the towing vehicle and sends them to the towed vehicle, and you'll also need your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes on your towed vehicle whenever you hit the brakes inside your towing vehicle. And of course, you need a base plate for your towed vehicle, which is going to provide the connection point for your tow bar to attach to.Your diode wiring is going to take all the lighting signals from your towing vehicle and transfer them back to your towed vehicle so that way people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2009 Jeep Liberty, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode 7 Wire to 6 Wire Flexco Coil Wiring Kit, part number: RM-15267. A diode kit is gonna eliminate the need for those magnetic lights that you see a lot, that you stick on the side of your car, and you have to run the wires along the side. Because they're actually gonna get wired into our existing taillights with just a few components. It's gonna accept our RV stock tail and turn signals, and we're gonna be able to use them on our Liberty's factory taillight. We're not gonna have to drill a new hole in our taillights and put a new bulb in or use those magnetic lights. It's gonna come with a six way round socket, as well as the bracket to mount it on the front of your vehicle. You're gonna get a coiled cord that's gonna come with it, so we can hook our RV and our car up. Now, one of the big benefits of our diode wiring kit is that it is gonna prevent any kind of electrical feedback if there we're anything to arise in the motor home side and protect our vehicle's wiring. Now, since a vehicle has a separate turn signal opposed to the brake, our diode kit is actually gonna turn a brake signal into our turn signal while we're towing our Liberty. more

Today in this 2012 Jeep Liberty, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster diode seven-wire to six-wire Flexo-Coil wiring kit part number RM-15267. Here's what our diode wiring looks like installed. As you can see, we're utilizing our vehicle's factory taillight and brake light bulb in order to turn our Liberty into a trailer like vehicle to be towed behind our motor home. Our Liberty does have a separate terminal bulb from the factory but we're not utilizing that. We're using our taillight and brake light bulb to combine all of our functions into one bulb.By utilizing this dialed wiring, we don't have to worry about using magnetic tow lights, we utilize what our vehicle already has in place from the factory. So we only have to make a simple connection at the front of it when we're ready to flat tow. more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2004 Jeep Liberty- Video

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2004 Jeep Liberty

Today we will be installing Roadmaster universal wiring kit, RM-154, on a 2004 Jeep Liberty. Our first step is going to be to mount this small bracket here in the front of the vehicle that we are going to tie the front end off so it will be accessible when attaching to your motor home. This is a self-threading bolt. It may be slightly difficult to get started but once you do it gets much easier. Our bracket is mounted. I am going to zip-tie my front connector off to it and begin the routing of my wire to the rear of the vehicle. You can see our wire coming up over the axle now. We are going to use these two rear mounting holes. We are going to zip-tie off the rear leader going to our taillights. Now that we have our wire feed run to the rear of the vehicle, what we need to do is remove the taillight lenses in order to splice our wire in. The first step is going to be open the rear hatch of the vehicle and remove the ports bit screws so that we can remove the lenses. Alright, now that we have our screws removed, we can pop our taillight lens out. I even like to go ahead and disconnect my hold-down and then go ahead and disconnect the harness so I can set the taillight lens out of the way. Our harness plug has a locking tab that will have to be pushed up. Then press on your tab to remove your harness. I am going to repeat the same steps on the driver side. 1:46 more

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2006 Jeep Liberty- Video

Roadmaster Tow Bar Wiring Kit Installation - 2006 Jeep Liberty

Today on this 2006 Jeep Liberty we are going to install part number RM-154 from Roadmaster. What this does is allows us to wire up the vehicle so that it can be towed behind an RV. The first step is to route the wire from the front to rear and the wire harness comes with two truck ends on the wiring harness itself. We are just going to cut off one end of it, leave about a foot or so on there in case we need to use it again or in case the original one gets worn out. This 4-pole is going to stay at the front and basically you can think about it as like wiring up a utility trailer. This is going to stay in the front and the car is going to become a trailer at this point. We are going to run our wire between the plastic up in here towards the center as close as possible because in the future a face plate will get installed in that general area. Thread that on through until we come out the other side and we are going to route it all the way back and stay away from the suspension components and we are actually going to run it through the frame. 01:00 more
